A Coat In Point

It feels like ages since I penned a blog post but that’s only because last month has been a whirlwind of travelling, juggling work commitments and a case of the flu. It almost felt like I was on a sabbatical but I am revved up and ready to share a ton of things with you.

If you have been following us on Instagram and Facebook you would have known that I escaped to the islands of Greece for a much needed getaway last month and it was just fabulous – so fabulous that it needs a whole new blog post so more on that later this week.

The weather was amazing throughout Greece, and anyone planning to visit should definitely look at going in September/October. The mornings are blissfully cool for a crisp cup of coffee while the afternoons are balmy, perfect for a stroll along the shopping streets and the evenings are the coziest for a chill glass of Vinsanto. I half expected to return to a cooler weather back home and while the temperatures did drop a little, the humidity levels were at an all-time high!! Frizzy hair days are here my friends!!

While we are not lucky enough to experience the beautiful transition from summer to autumn with everything turning golden brown and a chill breeze sweeping the place, that didn’t stop me from wearing one of my favorite fall coats that I picked up from Zara. The 2015 New York Fashion Week gave me some serious coat envy - From luxurious furs at Michael Kors and Jason Wu, to opera-length toppers at Protagonist and Misha Nonoo and the continued reign of gorgeous refined styles for the minimalist (Prabal Gurung, Thakoon and Victoria Beckham). I am so looking forward to taking things like spring pastels and layering them with scarves and light jackets and turning to deep shades of plum and burnt orange hues for a more formal affair.

I might look cuckoo cozying up in this pastel pink coat but with Gulf News speaking of temperatures seriously dropping very soon, I couldn’t have found a better excuse to update my coat collection. Do sub-zero temperatures in the office count too??

Outfit Details: Top - Mango, Pants - Forever 21, Coat - Zara, Shoes - Charles & Keith, Bag - Michael Kors
