With the buzzing September streets of Dubai, my last semester of university starting soon and the hectic work schedule of my better half, Sue, we needed a bit of ‘us’ time to enjoy the beauties of life- a.k.a FASHION. With fall dawning in most of the countries in the world, we Dubai-ites unfortunately are not part of that list, but, no one can stop us from layering and popping the dusky and deep autumn colors in 35-40 degree temperatures.
This year’s ICONIC Autumn/ Winter 2015 collection was officially launched at a trendy bar called Tribeca, located on the first floor of JA Ocean View Hotel. Sue and I entered in to a decently crowded event where everyone was dressed to the T, browsing through the high racks, snapping away trying to find the perfect lighting, relishing some hors d’oeuvres and sipping on bubbly. It’s a funny feeling we get every time we attend ICONIC events, and it always seems like we fall in amour with their collections a little more each time around.

Part of this season’s collection falls into the traditional theme for winter- Monochrome - with pops of lime yellow and baby blues to break the sexier and edgy monochrome vibe.
Comfort is key when it comes to selecting my outfits which is another one of the core elements in this season’s collection. The flare, shift and fit dresses and skirts adopt a deeper and more fashionable look embracing the 90’s inspired trend. Turns out history does repeat itself.
In our opinion, the stars of the A/W collection would have to be their outerwear which is inclusive of their reptilian designed coats, sequenced blazers and camel colored cardigans. Keeping in mind the Dubai weather, the coats are designed to look heavy but weigh as light as a feather. If you know me, I love sober colors- especially the shades of brown and beige so taking a wild guess, which item of clothing you think I’m keen on getting my hands on?

...This grey/tan coat indeed with fur detailing ;)
Picture this paired with nude skinnys and laced up ankles heels and a belt to cinch in my waist (Note to self: Need to shop for a pair of laced up heels)

Sue has a good eye for when it comes to bags and it’s safe to say, she has one bag for every outfit she pulls together. The golden lace detail on the bag and tin pad lock made it stand out from a classic black bag. Number two on my wishlist!

Ahh how gorgeous is this piece?

Outfit details: Shirt and Necklace - Forever 21, Skirt and Bow belt - Vero Moda, Heels and Bag - Charles & Keith
Sue opted to try a look that has been trending on Pinterest, pairing a casual striped shirt with a midi skirt and accessorizing it with a shimmery bow belt and strappy heels.

Outfit details: Shift dress - Mango, Tribal jacket - Charlotte Russe, Heels - Kohls, Clutch - Debenhams
This is one of my favourite shift dresses because of its versatality and comfortableness and served as the perfect edgy combination with my tribal jacket and leather heels.
Here are some of the key pieces that are available to shop in stores now. All you need to keep ready is your plastic – card of course.
