Have you ever found yourself observing your own make up, before you step out of the house and after your back home? Unless you’re like Bey or whatever chances are that ‘highlight’ and that lipstick have rubbed off and you find yourself looking nothing short of a drag queen! But about three years ago I discovered the magic trick to ensure that you still look like a million bucks even after the party is over – Primers!
I've used about four of the primers listed below and trust me, my makeup DID.NOT.MOVE. Read ahead to check out my 5 favorite products.

Primers essentially prepare the skin for makeup application by creating a smooth canvas for product to hang onto for long-lasting wear. From my experience, this layer between your skin and your makeup, protects you from clogged pores, minimizes fine lines and can to some extent temporarily eliminate the appearance of dark spots. In this post, I’ll be sharing our ultimate favorite primers for our face, lips, eyes, under eyes and eyebrows.
Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer Potion

Source: This You Need

Source: Lily Leading Instant Eye Lift
The holy grail of all holy grails - No makeup artist can live without it and no makeup guru can stop raving about it. I personally think Urban Decay have the most pigmented eye shadows and are a dream to wear. The Original primer is a perfect everyday base that can lock in your eye shadows and prevent the unwanted creases from occurring. If you’re a shimmer freak, I recommend investing in the Urban Decay Sin Eye shadow primer which can be used as a sweep of shimmer over your lids or a base to use before you load on the shimmer and glitter.
Sephora Universal Lip Liner

Source: Sephora
A must have in your makeup vanity if you’re a lipstick lover like Sue and myself. This Sephora Lip liner is transparent and can be applied all over the lips, especially on the lip line as it prevents your lipstick from feathering onto the skin. The waxy texture provides a safe base for your lipstick giving it a more waterproof and long lasting wear. So, when you decide to go daring with the deep purples and fire reds, this product will be your best friend.
Makeup Forever HD Primer Base

Granted we’ve got several well favored face primers because sometimes, change is good, but I’ve narrowed it down to one, the lone but strongest one standing. Whilst waiting in the long Sephora queues, I spotted this small primer tube for only $10 and thought to myself, hey why not! Being as impatient as I was, I rushed home, took off all my makeup only to reapply it all back on, but with this Makeup Forever face primer. Oh the compliments were endless! This face primer is an excellent base for smooth and easy gliding application of foundation and dabs of concealer. My face almost looked too perfect to be true. Might I add, I have pretty oily skin and despite that, this primer is worthy of a second purchase.
Clinique Under Eye Base/Primer

Source: Sephora
This dermatologist tested brand, has been in the market since 1950 and has been a lasting favorite among generations of women. Their famous 3 step program can be found in almost every femme’s bathroom cabinet along with the complimentary Clinique Under eye cream which is always popped into our Clinique bags before leaving the counter. Under eye circles are not pretty and usually make you look very tired and weary, perhaps even more than you feel. Applying this under eye cream overnight guarantees less puffier eyes the next morning and a dimmer shadow under your eye. Make sure to apply very little, so that it is perfect for one sweep across the skin, else your concealer or foundation under the eye may start to crease.
NYX Proof If! Waterproof Eyebrow Primer

Source: NYX
This highly affordable waterproof NYX Product is great for women with sparse eyebrows and it great to apply on right before shaping your brows with a powder. We love the consistency of this gelly product and it makes sure our eyebrows are left looking perfect and on point.
I personally cannot do without primers, what about you?
