Summer Hair Story with Sunsilk

I sort of love summertime, especially when it comes to hair styles. Having such a thick, wavy and uncontrollable mane, I usually get away with styling it in a braid or a twisty up do. We’ve teamed up with Sunsilk to help make sure your 2015 summer hair story is the best one yet. From festival worthy boho waves, to making the most from your blow-dry and to keeping those colored locks fresh and vibrant in this sweltering heat, this summer hair story is sure to end on a positive note.

Sunsilk’s new Refreshing Dry Shampoo range offers three variants to cater to different female hair needs: for normal hair, greasy hair and colored hair. The entire range strives to refresh limp lifeless hair, absorb excess oil and enhance volume without a heavy dull finish in three easy steps: spray on the roots, massage into your hair and brush to absorb the oil.

Normal Hair
Speaking of hair, I honestly dread washing my hair in the summer. The scalding water that comes out of the ‘cold’ tap not only dries my hair out but also leaves me feeling dehydrated. Luckily, my hair does not get greasy very fast even in the midst of high humidity. The last few years, my mane has sort of embraced its natural waviness and on the third day, post a hair wash, it behaves itself in manageable curly waves. The Sunsilk dry shampoo for normal hair not only hydrates my hair, it helps add a nice texture letting my hair take on whatever form I give it. If your hair is like mine, then this one’s for you. I just lightly spray it on the crown of my head (avoiding the roots) and then gently tousle my hair to scrunch the product in. I think I am ready for Kim Kardashian’s infamous hair care routine!
Greasy Hair
While greasy hair might not be a problem for me, it is for Stacey especially in the summer and she needs to wash her hair almost every alternative day. However, the extreme weather and potentially high chlorine content in the tap water in UAE are probably good enough reasons to avoid washing your hair too often. If you are dealing with similar hair issues, then the green can is the one you would want to try which is sure to be a saving grace in times of an urgent need for a hair wash. Generously spray the shampoo in the areas it appears greasy, massage it into your hair and then flip your hair back and forth for full voluminous hair in a jiffy.
Colored Hair
I tried coloring my hair burgundy once in my second last year of schooling and that was the last time. My hair was wavier and rougher back in the days when admittedly I did little to maintain its luster and the color further worsened the texture making my ends look like hay. But if you are blessed with hair that doesn’t freak out after you color or highlight it then the red can, can help you get more days from a fabulous blow out or help you with styling your hair. It is a widely known fact that frequently shampooing your hair after dyeing it can cause the color to fade quickly. This is another area where Sunsilk can step, in between washes, to the rescue allowing you to shampoo your hair less frequently, keeping your hair color looking healthy and vibrant.
Ideal for women on-the- go, this range is the perfect quick-fix, water free, temporary solution to hair wash and is easily available across leading supermarkets, and retails for as low as AED 17 for a 100 ml aerosol can, and AED 25 for 200ml.
