Meant to be

I don’t know if you believe in ‘meant to be’, but you must know that destiny brought these distressed denims and I together.

It was one of those lazy Saturday mornings when my dad suddenly decided he wanted to go shopping for a few semi-casual pieces. Not wanting to struggle for parking or for that matter get stuck in any sort of traffic, I chose to drive my folks to MCC (Mirdiff City Centre). The fact that the stores are bigger, within a comfortable distance of each other and being generally more peaceful than other malls, are others reasons my folks and I love this mall.

There aren’t many options for men’s fashion and knowing what we were looking for, I took them to Zara. After collecting, 4 blazers, 3 pants and 5 shirts to try, I aimlessly found myself wandering through the women’s section when I spotted this lone distressed stranger lying on a bed of neatly stacked T-shirts. To my luck, this 'stranger' fit like a glove and turned out to be just the pair I had subconsciously been looking for all along. What made my day was the glorious little orange tag attached to it: if you’re a regular in Zara you would know that meant it was on SALE!

I snapped these beauties up and proudly wore them the next day. After what has been an eventful two weeks, which involved dressing up for so many birthdays celebrations in the family (including mine), it felt good to finally dress down and slip into something cool, comfy and casual. Anyway just thought I’d provide you with that tale. You know just in case your Tuesday afternoon was missing a denim love story.
