It is always super exciting to attend events hosted by mega fashion retailer Splash and just when you thought awwh this is going to be a modest Iftar affair they surprise you with a glittering ambience that almost made you miss their fashion shows.

Attended by socialites, media and Shukran patrons, Splash left no stone unturned for their annual Iftar this year. Held at the beautiful Constellation ballroom at The Address Dubai Marina, the entrance was nothing short of grand and had all guests waltzing the red carpet to a beautiful set up of the scrumptious spread of food. Not before being mobbed by the paparazzi of course! The ballroom was completely redecorated to give a glam street feel with a tea/coffee stalls and a traditional oud musician who was seated in gorgeous lantern shaped centerpiece, passionately playing soothing tunes.

The environment was warm and friendly and had a cheerful atmosphere with families, friends and colleagues exchanging greetings and pleasantries. It also gave us an opportunity to meet other fellow bloggers; Mohammad Mondal of Wetrendstyle, Chayya of Your Bubbly Butterfly, Sheida of Sheidafashionista and Andy Scott of Andyscottfashion to name a few.

After a bit of mingling we settled our tummies down with some Moroccan Mint green tea coz it was surely going to be a feast. There were cuisines to suit every taste bud from Arabic mezze, to traditional Indian food, to a kebab zone to a salad bar but we were drawn towards the Continental and Asian section that had amazing dim sums, awesome baked salmon and a mouthwatering beef stir fry that had us satisfied to our hearts content.

With all that indulgence we were too afraid to walk past the dessert section AGAIN as it had everything to make you go weak in the knees. On the Arabic side they had variety of kunafa, basbousa, umm ali and baklawa and on the continental side they had an array of tarts, cakes, soufflés, sorbets and ice cream with an assortment of fruits and toppings.
Coming to our outfits, I opted for this simple blush shift dress from Forever 21 and paired it with all things silver to add a subtle glam quotient. Nudes and pastels have been growing on me this summer and soon you will see how ;)

Stacey went with her beloved grey pencil skirt from Forever 21 and draped her shoulders with a monochrome blazer from Warehouse (Debenhams). Not the one with a penchant for accessories, she finished her outfit with towering pumps from Shana.

All this Iftar talk has gotten me hungry, any suggestions on good iftars to try around town in Dubai?
