PAESE to meet you

With the summer sunshine ahead it was the perfect time to give PAESE Balm Lip Gloss and Blush with Argan Oil a try.

Last weekend I sent all my heavy makeup items into hibernation – that included my liquid MAC foundation and concealer, my cream based primer, highlighters and blushes, my heavy duty matte lipsticks and cream eye shadows. With the level of humidity only rising, the last thing you want is your pores to clog up with sweat, pollution and make up *Ewwww*. My current summer products are my BB cream, brow bar, liquid eyeliner, a peachy blush and satin finish lipsticks or tinted balms. This change has also sped up my morning routine of getting ready for work.

Speaking about summer makeup, I gave this new blush I received at the OBlogger event a swipe and honestly it’s a pretty good dupe for NARS 'Orgasm' or MAC's 'Peachykeen'. This was my very first adventure with a blush that has been infused with the natural goodness of Argan oil and Vitamins A,C & E. The product has a delicate consistency with tiny specks of shimmer but is also subtly moisturizing. I had it on from 8 AM to about 7 PM (without any face cream or primer as a base) and I can safely say it does have a long lasting effect and did not make my cheeks feel oily.

This made me stop to think about the way cosmetics have drastically changed. I remember the first time I used blush I didn’t care to read the labels, all I was interested was in the color payoff. Then it was all about the finish, so it was water, silicone or mineral based and now it’s whether the product can do all the above as well as protect and nourish the skin. But hey, if advancements in cosmetology can reduce my morning beauty and makeup routine by 10 minutes, I’m not complaining!

Not having lipstick on is equivalent to me forgetting to put clothes on – yes that’s how much I can’t live without lipstick! Since I changed my makeup routine for summer, I reluctantly decided to switch my matte lipsticks to something that’s more moisturizing. It was the best time for a little bit of trial and error with PAESE balm lip gloss.

The word ‘gloss’ instantly makes me cringe because I absolutely cannot stand sticky formulas that mess up my hair, my fingers and my beloved tea cup. Surprisingly, this gloss is not only a great neutral shade but is low maintenance and sort of dries to a balmy formula thanks to Meadowfoam Oil. Plus it applies easily and is super moisturizing with elements of Cocoa Butter and Castor Oil to help soften and even out the skin.
