I’m not going to lie, I do obsess over Kim Kardashian - for the good reasons of course. Take for instance her flawless makeup and those long natural lashes. I’ve always been a fan of big and long lashes but the tedious effort of applying falsies on a daily basis is a big NO NO for me. So here’s introducing you readers to what has now become my HOLY GRAIL for my lashes - Magnifibres Brush-On False Lashes.

Magnifibres Brush On False Lashes

At approximately AED 120, Magnifibres are 100% natural fibres that add some serious length to your lashes. Falsies are a big thing in the UK and it’s no surprise that this MARVELOUS invention is right from there. Now to get a bit more science-y, the mascara fibre wand contains conditioning panthenol which is a form of Vitamin B5. It is a common component used in shampoos and conditioners which makes the liquid stay onto your hair without it sliding off, leaving it shiny and silky. Bored yet?

This is a key element in the Magnifibres Brush-on Lashes because once I applied a coat of the fibres, (which might I add looks like cotton) on my lashes, I was a bit weary as to whether it would fly off or not, but it just didn’t budge. So now onto the wicked results and the best way to use it:

  • Curling your lashes is a must if you don’t already have curly lashes, like me.

  • Apply a generous coat of your mascara for which I used Max Factor Excess Volume Extreme Impact Double Sided Mascara which was one of the products I had received in my Glambox. Phew, that’s a long name! Now I won’t say I’m a rule breaker, but I did use the second step of the mascara (Step 2 - Dark Lacquer) first simply because after applying the fibres, I wanted that extra volume

  • This next step is like a race because you HAVE to coat your lashes with the fibres when the mascara is wet, else it won’t stick on. Let it dry for about 60 seconds before proceeding to the next step.

  • Due to my unimaginable fondness of big lashes, I usually re-curl them at this stage and then apply the (Step 1 - Extreme Volume) side of my mascara till each lash is generously coated and VOILA! Falsies with no hassle.

As much as I find this product brilliant, I must say that the only downside to it would have to be the removal process. Don’t get me wrong, the mascara will come off, but not instantly. The best solution would be to soak a cotton pad with an oil based makeup remover and let it sit on your eye for about 15 seconds, so that removing the mascara is gradual instead of the constant rubbing around the eyes.
