Product Review: Skin Republic Neck and Décolletage Repair & Foot Rescue Mask

Created and developed by a team of dermatologists from the University of Seoul in Korea, Skin Republic’s innovative take on traditional face, hand and foot masks, has garnered lots of fans all across the world. Fused with natural properties as well as breakthrough scientific ingredients, these hypo-allergenic sheet masks and treatments are formulated not only to cleanse, nourish and rejuvenate the skin but also improve the overall health and condition. We were quite excited to finally give it a try- courtesy of Tish Tash.

‘Sheet masks’ are what sets Skin Republic apart from the rest as they are very effective in delivering nutrients to the skin due to the close ‘dermal’ contact of the mask with the skin. A process called ‘Transdermal Delivery System’ helps the skin absorb the serum faster and more efficiently than traditional masks and creams.

Sheet masks are effective as they avert bacteria and dirt being passed onto your skin which can be the case when applying cream masks. Moreover applying and removing cream masks can be quite a hassle and messy too. However Skin Republic sheet masks can be easily applied and removed with no messy clean up and holds the formula onto the skin more effectively.

We decided put the unconventional masks such as those for the neck and feet to the test and here’s what we thought.

After a hectic but fun holiday in Mumbai, our mommies’ skin needed some much R&R and it only seemed apt that this product should be tested on slightly aged skin.

On application, they found Skin Republic sheet masks to be super hydrated and refreshingly cool on contact – not to mention heavily infused with ingredients. Although the masks were drenched, the product was not slippery or messy but actually was firm on application.

20 minutes into the treatment, the sheets did get slightly drier but could be peeled off as easily as it was to put on. In fact the sheets still felt like it could be re-used because it was wet with product.

Unlike conventional masks, you don’t need to rinse off the serum from your neck. Although the serum sets into the skin, it can be further massaged on like a moisturizer. Double win!

They said their neck felt refreshed, charged, a shade brighter and firmer than usual. In fact the skin felt a lot supple the next morning and actually reduced flakiness. However to see better results, regular application according to the recommended dosage is required. We can only imagine that the result would be worth it.

Conclusion

The neck mask is ideal for those that want to slow the downward tug of gravity on their neck and décolletage. This mask works wonders hydrating and rejuvenating this delicate area and it does improve the texture and radiance of your skin. However if you have extremely sensitive skin or have a lot of breakouts, we suggest using it with caution. Overall we would say this is a reasonably priced, incredibly easy and effective way of pampering the delicate area around your neck.

Our feet are literally the most unattractive part of our body. Not only do they bear a striking resemblance to duck feet but (we admit) they are the most neglected part of our body. They needed instant revival and we hoped that Skin republic’s Feet Rescue mask could work its magic.

The perforated booties were easy to slip on and formed a comfortable cocoon around the feet. It is recommended to massage the feet wearing the booties so that the skin filter ingredients soak in, supplying nutrients to the skin. For better hold we tightened the booties with a hair tie (excuse the colors) so we were able to relax without them slipping off.

The conditioning foot mask felt cool and while you think you cannot feel the magic working you definitely can see the effects after. The dry skin around our toes and heels disappeared and visibly reduced lines. Our nail beds were deeply conditioned and our feet felt as soft as a baby's skin. What’s more even the dark skin on our toe knuckles lightened a bit.

If the mask did this much to our feet in the first try I think our feet would be Cinderalla-slipper ready after a month.

Conclusion

Great foot repair treatment for home use especially when you have no time to visit the spa. It definitely does the trick of deeply moisturizing sore and dry heels. When you’ve lost all hope at saving your feet, this foot mask can seriously rescue sad dry feet and transform them into dance ready, super soft feet that will glow with vitality at a steal!

General Conclusion

Will the masks improve skin over time? As the skin has a four week regeneration period, only following the prescribed usage (which is twice a week for the first month and then as required) can tell. With all the scientific backing, worldwide postive reviews and quite a low price tag to boot, we would say Skin Republic masks are well worth adding to your skincare regime.
