Hope everyone had a fabulous time during the holidays. We for one sure did and whilst we dreaded getting back to the grind, we’re happy to be back doing what we love best – Blogging!!
Still reeling from the festive cheer, we wanted to share this sultry smokey eye we wore during the party season. We know there are tons of different versions but here’s ours, created with our all-time favorite Urban Decay’s Naked 2 palette and Sephora's Moonshadow baked palette (In the nude).

Smokey eyes can be a girl’s best day dream or their worst nightmare. We experimented with a sexy feline shaped smokey eye. It is one look that can guarantee that the current humidity isn’t going to be the only thing making you and your date hot and bothered after the following steps below . . .

Start with white base on the entire lid. Choose a nude brown color for the inner corner to mid of your eye lid.
Continue to layer the color to make it a bit darker. Add a deeper brown color on top and in the crease to intensify the look.
With the help of a business card or tape, follow with a black shadow on the outer edge of the lid moving towards your crease and create a sideways V shape.
Continue to layer the shadow so its dark enough to create a dramatic effect.
Use your smudge brush to soften the shadow.
Apply a light white gold shade to your brow bone to highlight and define both your brows and eyes.
Using liquid liner, outline the eye in smooth strokes moving from the inner to the outer corner of the eyelid.
Using a liner brush sweep a layer of black eye shadow under the eye beginning from the outside corner, moving toward the inner corner. Extend it a bit in the inner corner for a sultry cat eye effect.
Smudge the line to create a smoky look, somewhere between liner and shadow.
Clean up the edges with a Q-tip dipped in makeup remover.
Add volumimizing mascara to give the look a sleek and sexy finish.

TIPS
To brighten dark eyes, rim your waterline with a white pencil to make bedroom eyes look instantly awake.
Don’t pile on all your makeup at once. Pairing heavy blush and intense lipstick with a ton of bronzer is anything but sexy when you’ve got major eye makeup going on. A smoky eye looks the best with minimal makeup.
Play with eyeshadow color. Swap the smoky eye standard, basic gray/black shadow, for standout jewel tones. Rim with thick black liner for added drama.
Avoid going OTT with your shadow. Keep it subtle and don’t overdo under the eyes. Trust us you don’t want to end up looking like a raccoon. When it comes to black shadow, less is more! Dark under-eye circles are never a good thing in the beauty world.
Add some color to your cheeks! Blush can look pretty when paired with smoky eyes—the secret is strategic blush placement. Smile in the mirror to find your apples and dust on a universal peachy shade.
Lastly don’t let your eye liner get out of control. When liquid liner starts getting too thick and close to your hairline, reach for your makeup remover instantly—or risk looking like you got beaten up. One word of advice: Start with a little liner, then work your way up.
