Casual Outfit of the Weekend

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Hasn’t the weather been absolutely amazing in the last week? No better way to enjoy it than being outdoors so last weekend I hung out at Purobeach Urban Oasis and it was pure bliss. Located on the 6th floor of the chic new Conrad Dubai luxury hotel, it's the ultimate escape within the city with its white lounges, blue waters and beautifully landscaped lush gardens. As the sun sets, the oasis comes alive with signature sounds playing into the evening.

To go with the place I wore a super comfy outfit put together with pieces from H&M. The pants are lightweight, loose-fitting in a satinish fabric and the elasticized waistband, side pockets, and tapered legs really work to give it a good fit. Loose fitting trousers are a popular choice right now, and can look really chic when worn well. Tailored trousers are perfect for working a polished look while loose jersey style trousers like the one I’m wearing are great for casual, everyday wear. Some styles of loose trousers can be unflattering, so it’s important to get the balance right when styling loose or baggy trousers.

The navy blue hi-low sweater top, also from H&M, is loose fitting yet very comfortable and is definitely something you can also throw over a cute pair of distressed jeans or a skater dress.

As for accessories, my shades are from United Colors of Benetton and the ombre lenses automatically give any outfit an added edge. I don’t usually like to leave my neck bare, so threw on layers of silver and gold beaded chains which I picked up from Forever 21 a year ago. I popped all my essentials in my camel toned Michael Kors (Selma) bag, which I just cannot get enough of.

Loose or baggy trousers can make you appear wider so adding extra height can help balance this out. Wedges and chunky heeled shoes are great for wide-legged trousers while stiletto heels go well when paired with tailored and tapered trousers. I wore these simple open strapped heels with a hint of leopard print for the finishing touch. I picked these up on sale from Suite Blanco last month and it’s definitely one of my favorite purchases because they are so versatile.
