Getting into the festive season, we were inspired to do a makeup look on the shimmery golds and wine colors of Christmas. Although it may be a bit too early, we're already getting in the Christmas spirit !! How about you guys?

Festive makeup

First, start off with a clean and moisturized face. We used Clinique's clarifying lotion 3 as it really helps sweep away dulling flakes and excess oil that can lead to breakouts and most importantly preps skin to be more receptive to hydration.

Add a bit of primer to lock in your foundation and ensure it stays on through out the day. From our experience with various different primers Make Up Forever HD Primer really helps even out the skin providing a smooth canvas not to mention almost an airbrush photo finish.

For a full coverage and flawless look our holy grail is the Loreal True Match foundation - Loreal -True Match N4 -Buff Beige

Cover up any stubborn blemishes with a concealer of your choice - Maybelline Fit Me Concealer

Add a bit of bronzer and blush to contour and add a bit of color to your cheeks - Too Faced - Snow Bunny Bronzer

For this look we wanted to shine the spotlight on the lips and so we kept the eyes simple with a touch of shimmer. We went for a brown and gold shimmer shadow. Apply a bit of 'Busted' in the inner and outer third of the lid and 'Half Baked' in the center of the lid from the trusty UD Naked 2 palette.

Festive makeup

Ladies, if y'all haven't invested in the Urban Decay Naked palettes, WHAT YALL WAITING FOR ??! In our opinion the UD's Naked 2 is perfect as it's got the right amount of matte and shimmer shades in nude and earthy tones.

Top it off with a gel liner like Benefit's They're Real Push up liner and add some lashes for added effect. We used Artmatic USA Lashes - Black Hussy.

Now onto the star of the makeup ! Them luscious berry lips. For the lipstick color to really show through, prime your lips with a bit of lip balm and a dab of foundation all over. The first lipstick we used is Mac's Diva and transitioning from a deep mahogany to a berry, we also added a bit of Kat Von D cream Lipstick - L.U.V.
