Neutrogena has been one of those brands that we've bought on and off since our school years but never stayed really faithful to. What used to be popular then was the Deep Clean Cleanser and we used it for about a year till we moved on to other products that tickled our fancy. Thanks to Tish Tash we heard about their recent product launch the 'Visibly Clear: Pore & Shine' Face Wash and the Daily Face Scrub which has been formulated to unclog and minimize pores’ size; and clinically proven to immediately remove 77% of excess sebum, providing a lasting matte finish without over-drying the skin. The scrub was a winner at the Cosmopolitan Beauty Awards 2013 for the 'Best Face Exfoliator ' - We definitely wanted to find out why!

Neutrogena Facewash and Scrub

We've all read these labels before and constantly thought – ‘this face wash should work on my skin’- but many a times we don't experience much of a difference. Courtesy of Tish Tash, we received this product a week or two ago and decided to test it out for a whole week before reviewing it. FACE WASH

We've been using a mixture of Clean and Clear and Lakme products and a purse friendly alternative was on the cards for the long time so we were excited to test what seemed like a promising face wash.

It is probably clear by now that we constantly substitute products in and out to shake up our routine and the last product we tried of Neutrogena’s was the Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Scrub, which smelt heavenly but didn't buff our skin liked we hoped it would. We usually associate Neutrogena with other brands targeted at the acne-prone teenager looking for a boost in confidence. But we've learnt never to judge a book by its cover and, with the claims of mattified skin and tightened pores, its time our opinion did a double flip!

Starting with a wet face, massage a pea sized amount onto the skin, really working it into any problems areas. For us this is around the nose, chin and all along the forehead as these are the areas we get a lot of stubborn dry skin. The face wash has a gel like consistency, completely transparent and very light making it perfect for people with oily skin. As soon as you gently start massaging it you can feel a slight tingling sensation which we assume to be the pores closing up. As for shine reduction, we have to say that there was a massive improvement. We both have odd skin, really dry in places and then slightly oily in our T-zone but normal pretty much everywhere else. I've (Sue) been using this scrub before my usual toning and moisturizing to set me up for a touch of concealer, eyeliner and mascara. It's really uplifting to wear less makeup and have my skin care work its magic! Stacey includes this product in her night time routine as well to cleanse the face before hitting the sack so it can work its magic overnight.

DAILY SCRUB

This face wash smells really good and after using it once a day for just one week our face has been less oily especially after a long day at work and university. We don’t have to panic if we forgot our compact powders at home so that is a major win for us. However, Stacey did try using it twice a day for a couple days and her face was quite dry, almost like it got rid of all the natural oils, so we suggest only use it once either every day or every two days. Our recommendation is that it is perfect for people with sensitive and oily skin since the scrub is not harsh at all and the micro beads provide just the right amount of exfoliation. We honestly do feel this has made a difference to our skin and helped reduce the excess of oil in the T- Zones.
